    OUr Founder & Owner

    Dr. Okah “Justin” Anyokwu received his medical degree from the College of Health Sciences at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife Nigeria. He then moved to the United Kingdom to attend the Royal College of Psychiatry to specialize in Psychiatry. Upon completion of his education in Europe, he moved to the United States and completed his residency at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Justin is a board-certified psychiatrist licensed in eight states and is currently a member of the American Psychiatric Association. He specializes in co-morbid and Treatment-Resistant psychiatric disorders. He founded Avant Behavioral Consultants in 2017 which now operates as Avant Interventional Psychiatry, an outpatient private practice specializing in treatment resistant psychiatric services, telepsychiatry, therapy, substance abuse treatment, and TMS.


    Dr. Justin is the Medical Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Unit at Southern Regional Medical Center. Avant Psychiatry also provides all psychiatric care to Select Specialty Hospital, which is a long-term acute care rehabilitation hospital.
