Symptoms can vary from one personality to another, and can range from mild to severe. People with a personality disorder may not realize they have a problem. In fact, to them, they feel there thought patterns are normal and tend to blame others for their problems.


The cause is unknown, but it is believed that personality disorders may have a genetic link and often result from childhood upbringing. Treatment involves intense psychotherapy.
